Overview of the College
"Gouthami Institute of Technology & Management for Women (GITAMW)" was established in 2009 in Proddatur with the noble objective of promoting technical education for women in the backward region of Kadapa district. It is an institution functioning under the Mother Teresa Christian Minority Educational Society, Jammalamadugu. The primary objective of the institute is to produce highly innovative, motivated, and globally competent leaders in the field of engineering education. The institute is located on a sprawling 5.10-acre campus, set amidst a lush green, hillock region, offering a calm and congenial atmosphere. The campus is situated on the National Highway between Proddatur and Jammalamadugu, approximately 6 km from Proddatur town and 60 km from Kadapa (by road). The nearest railway stations are Proddatur (PRDT) and Yerraguntla (YA). GITAMW is housed in magnificent, spacious buildings designed to meet the modern standards of engineering institutions. The campus is equipped with CC cameras for enhanced surveillance and better management of educational resources. The institute is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA) through a notification dated 08-Oct-2009, following approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi (Letter of Approval: F.No.AICTE/E&T/AP-NEW/2009-10 dated June 27, 2009), and the Andhra Pradesh State Government (G.O. No. 86). GITAMW has also received NAAC B++ ranking, which highlights the institute's commitment to maintaining high standards of education, infrastructure, and student support services. This ranking reflects the institute’s continuous effort in improving the quality of education and fostering academic excellence. The NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) is a major body that evaluates and accredits higher education institutions across India, and a B++ ranking signifies a consistent level of quality in both academics and overall institutional performance. In addition, GITAMW is recognized under UGC 2f (1956 Act), ensuring that it adheres to the standards set by the University Grants Commission for higher education institutions in India. This recognition facilitates various grants and supports the overall development of the institute, making it eligible for national and international academic collaborations and funding opportunities.
